H&R Block spends millions each year lobbying to keep U.S. taxes difficult and expensive.[1] Alongside tax-prep giants like Intuit and TurboTax, H&R Block has successfully lobbied to prevent the U.S. from implementing any level of tax form pre-completion,[2] despite the fact that the IRS already collects the necessary data.[citation needed]
